Just an old journal I wanted to re-do since it got a lot of attention from 2013.

Sup Deviants,
I'm here to offer you a fix to the annoying explorer taskbar that will pop up while using litestep as your shell. I realized that some of the litestep users (new, intermediate & advanced) are all still undergoing this problem from time to time. I thought it was something I did, maybe I didn't set my shell correctly? Outdated modules? Nah. I did a little reading and came up with a simple solution that works for me. I'm on Windows 7 X64 SP1. So, I'd recommend this registry edit for my fellow Windows 7 Users since I have not tried it on any other Windows. Feel free to try.
I suggest you check your registry entry before even bothering to try to change it. Because if your registry already had litestep as the default shell then I would think you have a different problem. In this case, my registry did not register litestep as the default shell. Even though I'm on litestep, my registry still reads it as "explorer.exe". So, I have to change it to "litestep.exe".
This worked for me. I will explain how to do this simple check below:
1. Pull up the Registry Editor (If you don't know how, windows button+r and type in "regedit")
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Microsoft >> Windows NT >> CURRENT VERSION >> WinLogOn
3. Look for the value "Shell"
4. Now edit your "Shell" value with quotations to where you installed litestep's executable. (I.E. "C:\Program Files (x86)\LiteStep\LiteStep.exe")
5. Reboot, All should be well now.
** If you are still having the issue with litestep pulling up the windows taskbar as you use your right click function, I would suggest you then disable the shell auto restart.
- Navigate back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Microsoft >> Windows NT >> CURRENT VERSION >> WinLogOn
- Change the "AutoRestartShell" value to 0.
These options have been tested by myself before I have dared to share with you all here. Please take necessary precautions as to backing up your registry in case you will need a second try. If you have any questions please drop a comment here, do not send me a note regarding my journals. Thank you kindly.

Numix for Windows 7 - On Hold..
hello everyone,
i'm sad to declare that i will not be able to finish the numix project i had been working on the past few days due to my design external dying out on me last night out of no where. i apologize to those who were looking forward to this release. i may consider to redo the configuration and graphics for the theme but will take me extra time since I have lost all of my material that was saved to the external. i no longer have the graphics, config or psd for any of the themes. sorry mates but, you know me, forget the past and move on to the present day and look to the future. since, numix is on hold, i'm just gonna get back to it
Seagate. Worst brand ever.
Was making some changes on my Numix project and tried to save some colors via Photoshop on to my external when it started saying some bullshit about my Seagate GoFlex that I didn't see before, ended up not being able to save because of an error on the drive. I decided to remove the drive (safely), rebooted my pc and wow.. no longer registers nor can it load. I've only had the piece of shit for about a year and some change! I did some research on it and found out this happens to Seagate externals a lot and users recommend not to purchase one. I'll definitely say that is the last time I take advantage of a deal on Newegg. Anyone know a good bra
Elementary OS Freya - Still Unstable.. .
Topic -- Elementary OS, Codename FREYA
Stability -- Not Worth The Installation
I felt like I needed to write this little journal on by far the sexiest Linux distribution, Elementary OS. I can't even start to tell you how disappointed I am. After 2 days of trial and error, I have decided that the revered and acclaimed Elementary OS Freya is certainly not worth the installation. Granted, I am new to the Linux community but it doesn't take a tech junkie to realize what works and what does not; and as painful as it is to say, Elementary OS does not work PROPERLY****
I was a little concerned from the start of my voyage into Elementary OS. The I

I have this issue the first time I install LS, but after loading some modules and set my configuration, the second install was succesfull. Good to see people offering Litestep support these days.
